In-Person Seminar

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Monroeville Convention Center | Monroeville, PA

Presented by Jennifer Franco, CN, ACN

Continuing Education Credits: 12 CEUs for DCs in Pennsylvania APPROVED (TCC)

This engaging and informative seminar focuses on the nutritive requirement of the human body starting with healthy cells and building up through the body systems.  We will review vitamins and minerals that are crucial for cellular function and how that contributes to specialized proteins in unique glandular/organ tissue.  Cells that are well fed create tissues that function optimally which is crucial in the younger population with their rapid growth rate.

We will also spend time discussing the nutritional assessment of children and how to support them naturally throughout all stages of a child’s life. Learning and understanding the nutritional guidelines and recommendations for children will also be presented.  Emphasis will be placed on 4 main phases of children’s nutritional support: infants, growth and development, immune system, and emotions and behavior. Patient care will also include diet and lifestyle modification, implementing specific nutritional protocols and appropriate case management through follow-up testing or nutritional consultations.

On completion of this course, attendees will:

  • Understand the vitamins requirements for healthy cellular function and proper growth factors
  • Understand the mineral requirements for healthy cellular function and enzymatic processes
  • Have reviewed a functional approach to the digestive, endocrine and immune systems
  • Feel confident in developing a nutrition protocol for  supporting a child’s health
